accelerators investigation trip

Duration: March 6-15

Location: Shanghai-Shenzhen-Beijing

Purpose: To investigate the entrepreneurial environment in China

“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.” Same with Aileen, I decided to join the MOOC Plus competition in the very last hours during the Chinese New Year holiday, and finally got the chance to join the Australian accelerator – Muru-D’s China visiting trip, starting March 6th:

In Shanghai, we have visited Hero Center, Xin FabLab, and China Accelerator:

Besides, Amy and I also visited a Surffing Board manufactory located in Jiaxing city. Cecilia is so nice and usually treat us snacks after dinner:

After three days visiting in Shanghai, we headed to Shenzhen. Although our originally booked hotel had been cancelled mistakenly, we still enjoyed our time in Shenzhen. And we had our only group photo there:

Shenzhen is a developing city, where there are lots of science parks and innovation zones under construction or planning:

Besides visiting several so-called science parks, we had also visited Chaihuo Makerspace, which had been visited by Premier Li as well:

Then we were back to Beijing – the city where I was born, grown up, and working in. Besides the newly designed Innovation Street – Inno Way, we had also visited Innovation Works – one of the most famous accelerators in Beijing, where entrepreneurs making their dream becoming reality:

Muru-D had arranged another demo day for its startup teams at the Node Inno Gala in 798 Factory, where the teams pitched their ideas and communicated with potential investors and partners:

With time flies, the ten-day trip is coming to an end. We shall pack our mind and knowledge, backing to our everyday life and work:
